Chicago City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza to present scholarships to winners of Envision Chicago

WHO: Chicago City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza

WHAT: Chicago City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza in collaboration with The OpenGov Foundation, Alderman Carrie Austin, Alderman Roberto Maldonado, Alderman Ameya Pawar, and Alderman Anthony Napolitano will honor the winners of Envision Chicago with a resolution in this July’s Chicago City Council meeting.

Prior to City Council, students will meet with the elected officials, The OpenGov Foundation and sponsors of the competition in City Hall Room 201-A to be presented their scholarships. Following the brief presentation will be an opportunity for Q&A from the media.

Envision Chicago is a new initiative for students in four CPS high schools to share ideas to improve city laws and have a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship.

This inaugural round of Envision Chicago featured students in select classes at Marine Leadership Academy at Ames in the 26th Ward; Chicago Excel Academy of Roseland in the 34th Ward; Taft High School in the 41st Ward; and Lake View High School in the 47th Ward.
